Columbine revisited

Today's Guardian has an article that exposes many of the inaccurracies surrounding the Columbine massacre, such as it wasn't a nerd/jock thing and that they had planned to kill many more in an explosion.

There was a psychologist on breakfast TV the other day talking about the media coverage of such events, as well as more personal suicides. He said something to the effect that the extent and goriness of the message of the media is proportionate to the number of people who will copy it.

That's fascinating. Thanks.

There's a shocking statistic, somewhere, about how transportation accidents suddenly peak dramatically after a well-publicised disaster.
