Strange Cults

We've just got Elliott O'Donnell's Strange Cults & Secret Societies of Modern London published in 1934. It's looking to be a good resource for Trail of Cthulhu. Some of his books are available on Project Gutenburg such as Werewolves or The Sorcery Club. This last has the brilliant first line, "Rain is responsible for a great deal more than the mere growth of vegetables—it is a controller, if a somewhat capricious controller, of man's destiny."

I cite O'Donnell with approval in the Mythos chapter of Book-Hounds of London.

Hurrah! I wasn't really aware of him before but I've dipped into this book and it's good fun, although perhaps not exactly scolarship.

That sounds so cool. I must add it to my huge list of books to read. I think I need an extra lifetime to read all the books I want to read though :(
