I am astonished by how much I like. Though I did note some lovely pieces of ambiguity like (eg) "We'll control TB Ridden badgers, subject to the best scientific advice".

I'm also less sure about stopping polyclinics on the grounds that hospitals are more accessible.

There is also the overriding "deficit" statement at the end....

Don't you mean The Coalition? They've branded it, with its own specific typeface (in green - see what they've done there?) and everything. How very 21st century.:/

I think the deficit is the trump card that will mean that the rest of it doesn't have much impact. That said, Labour certainly lost its way and this seems at least a programme representative of both parties' manifestos, possibly more Lib Dem than I would have thought.

And it's also amusing to see what Cameron has just done to the 1922 Committee.

Mm, I'm not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing -- the '22 have generally been a bunch of gits, but they seemed to be the one force that could occasionally rein in Thatcher -- but it certainly shows his power within the party.

But that was when '22 was to the left of the leader. Now it seems to the other side, certainly far from the Lib Dems and likely to not agree with some of the social conscience agenda. Mind you, if ministers go and fail to stop a right wing revolt, then there will be fireworks.
