Reading - The Great God Pan and others

I've downloaded the Laputa android eBook app. It's seems pretty good. The page quality is fine and I've got a whole array of HPL and other books such as most of Cory Doctorow's oeuvre (under CC) and War & Peace. I read Machen's The Great God Pan whilst on my way to Leisure Games' 25 anniversay celebration. It was 179 very small pages long so I hate to think how many W&P will be.

I've got quite a few books on the go at the moment, Phillip Kerr's If the Dead Rise Not, another Bernie Gunter story, Doctorow's Little Brother and The Baum Plan for Financial Independence by John Kessel. This last is a collection of short stories by a Nebula winner the most interesting of which are four interlinked tales set in a lunar colony.

I've got a Motorola DEXT (CLIQ in the US). It runs Android 1.6. Unfortunately Motorola have just gone back on their promised upgrade to 2.1 in Europe, only Americans will get it. So that's a bit annoying but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. I bought it for £150 and I pay Orange £5 per month for 250MB of internet which I just about use (with images mostly switched off). Otherwise I only spend about £5 every two months on calls.

Thankyou for reminding me that I really really *must* get round to reading Hill of Dreams....
