Natsudaidai Dwarf Virus

What a great name for a disease!

And it's pretty hard to decide, just by looking at it, what the disease affects. Did it turn Natsudaidai into a dwarf? Probably not, diseases are hardly ever named after the patient. So is it a very small virus whose lack of hypenation would upset simonjrogers? Not exactly. It will upset simonjrogers but not through lack of punctuation but mostly because it affects satsumas, stunting the trees and reducing fruiting. A disaster indeed.

If you're wondering how I found this gem, I was searching for the meaning of the acronym NDV.

It's the Newman/Dempsey Variant, a different way of accounting for negative traits in Cold City - not nearly quite as interesting.

This is satsumaist hate speech. You are laughing at the misfortune of the the most noble citric scion, the loose skinned, sweet yet sharp, loose-segmented satsuma. You and the other mandarinistas think its amusing to mock a the perfect orange fruit whose mother has mottled and curled leaves, and yet bravely grows and does its best to reach maturity. Mock my fruit again laughing boy, and the curse of the satusuma will make your beard will fall out. Incidentally making you more attractive to women. (google I Hate Beards)
