I saw Amy Winehouse in Forbidden Planet on Monday, shortly before meeting simonjrogers and seeing the 13 supermen. She was in the basement looking at the graphic novels new arrivals. This marks her out as one of us, except much smaller. She is tiny! I never realised - you just can't tell from TV.

Still, international superstar or not, still a geek. Well, perhaps not comics are more mainstream these days, but if she turns up at Dragonmeet next year then definitely!

Yes they still sell comics. Steve wants you to know he gets 10% discount. I think this is because Amy is his special friend.

"Amy is his special friend"? For some reason this scares me.

A certain amount of sarcasm here - when I first discovered FP, they were still friends with their former partners in FP International and had some of the best "old comic" stocks of any of the london shops. I spent many hours hunting for odd issues, and resented every shelf that went over to models, etc and all the staff who knew nothing....

At one point they had two shops; one was comics only and the other one, which was somewhere round the corner, had the other stuff.
