Breaking the Rules

Who knew it was such a hotbed of avant garde design? I didn't until I visited Breaking the Rules at the British Library last night and spent a quick 90 minutes perusing the exhibits.

The exhibition is subtitled "The Printed Face of the European Avant Garde 1900 – 1937". It concentrates on the Movements, the Cities and the People who produced Cubism, Expressionism, Futurism, Dadaism, Suprematism, Constructivism, Surrealism and all the other Isms.

If you're into printed media or any of these artistic streams then it's well worth a visit. And it's free.
