Tea-drinker par excellence

Hurrah for Octavius

I was born in Walthamstow, not in Whipps Cross, the larger hospital where David Beckham was born, but in the smaller Thorpe Combe. It's now a psychiatric unit. It was built, as Thirpe Combe House by Octavius Wigram, one of the London and Westminster Light Horse who turned Queen Caroline away from Westminster Abbey in 1820 when she tried to force entry into the coronation of her estranged husband George IV. Sometime later, he, like me, moved to Dulwich.

Perhaps this gives me something to Friday week.
