Happy Newtonmass

Look at Strictly Come Dancing. At the start, the new dancers don't really know what they're doing. They feel out of their depth and almost embarassed to try the steps. But they start to follow the teaching of their professional partners and slowly they can't on. And after 12 weeks they are moving together in harmony, supporting and leading each other.

And that's a bit like Jesus, isn't it?

Well, it is according to the (baby-eating) Bishop of Bath and Wells this morning on Radio 4.

The other thing that amused us was the Archbishop of Canterbury saying that people shouldn't expect some kind of magical solution to their problems. And yesterday he said "people should not wait for larger-than-life heroes". And isn't that a bit like Jesus too.

Peace be with you and yours today.

We could put him in touch with some American groups who think they can bring Armageddon closer...

And with you.

Indeed, many happy thingies.

Actually, a vast army of very ordinary heroes is exactly what we need.
