How bizarre

Apparently because I like Flann O'Brien's surreal masterpiece The Third Policeman, according to Amazon, I would also like Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, as in "man's ego is the fountainhead of human progress".

I would quite like to read The Fountainhead. My interest has been sparked by Bioshock, which has a thinly disguised Ayn Rand as a character.

You can read quite a lot of Rand's articles online and Wikipedia has a good one on objectivism. This seems OK up until the point where she says that pure laissez-faire capitalism is the only way to protect individual liberty. And she lived through the 20s and 30s!

Surreal masterpieces alike
The Fountainhead certainly bears a tangential relationship with reality. But not in a good way.
