The Fear

This is Lily Allen's new song. It's got a catchy pop tune somewhere out of the Pet Shop Boys/Dusty Springfield/Girls Aloud repertoire and cracking lyrics.

Life’s about film stars and less about mothers
It’s all about fast cars and passing each other
But it doesn’t matter cause I’m packing plastic
and that’s what makes my life so fucking fantastic

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
and its not my fault it’s how I’m program to function
I’ll look at the Sun and I’ll look in the Mirror
I’m on the right track yeah I’m on to a winner

It sounds like it's partly to do with her dealings with various other pop singers but her lyrics have been not only for the most part self-penned but also much wittier.

You can see the Alice-ish video here.

I really like this - One of her best so far. Though I'm never sure whether she is trying to be ironic, self-deprecating, or just revelling in it...

I heard this one via Adam and Joe, and I think it's a winner.
I know that technically I'm not supposed to like Lily Allen, but... you know.
