Who do you love?

I'm listening to You'll Never Be Sixteen Again. It's good for several reasons, John Peel's introduction and the music and sounds of the 60's counter culture in the UK.

There's a line of media vitriol against young adult culture that you can trace in this country through the Stones & Beatles, Punk, the Beastie Boys and Rave. On the whole it's the middle class turning against itself, each generation somehow hating the next one for doing the same things it did itself 20 years previously. The pure hatred from the media in the 60s was even stronger than you'd expect from the Daily Mail today. And I suppose that's progress.
