The dangers of SteveCon

I had a cracking good time at SteveCon Paris III this weekend. We started off in the Fourmi Ailée where I ran Cold City, eat roast pork and had a pretty decent cup of Assam tea. The more adventurous of us went for the duck in salt crust and the apple pie with cepe mushrooms. It's France, you can't eat badly just because you're at a Con!

This was followed with a move to the the Mayflower pub. I had a pint or two of Belgian beer (kriek and framboise) which might be the most I've ever drunk on a night out. We played a cracking game of Polaris for which Squeeze had done a good job of translating the key phrases into French. If you don't know this game have a look here. It's so narrative that there's only one d6 between the four players and we didn't ever use it, and there's no GM.

My character, excuse the frothing, had dumped his fiancée cousin after falling in love with his sister. He killed his confessor and was confronted by Zhou the Demon of Regret disguised as his father. Another lost his hand in a duel to his arch enemy but had his uncle summon up a demon to regrow him one out of ice. The price however was his uncle's life. It may be a bit of a system shock to some players, including two of the ones we had yesterday. They were only making up the numbers but really got into it. It's well worth $23 of anyone's money.

So what was the danger? Well, I was out this morning with Ben and Nathalie who where my gracious hosts. It was t-shirt weather I thought, although they wrapped up well, about 14C I guess with a clear sky. And I got sunburn on both arms.
