Going Spare

On Thursday we're going to see a talk at the Cuming Museum about Austin Osman Spare by Phil Baker:

Phil Baker is the author of The Dedalus Book of Absinthe, The Devil is a Gentleman: The Life and Times of Dennis Wheatley, William Burroughs (in Reaktion Books' Critical Lives series) and the forthcoming Austin Osman Spare: The Life and Legend of London's Lost Artist, published in November 2010 by Strange Attractor Press (www.strangeattractor.co.uk). In his introduction to Austin Osman Spare, author Alan Moore writes:

'What Phil Baker has accomplished here is little short of marvellous...[he] at last offers us a view of Austin Spare that is complete and has an animating warmth... [it's] a true watershed in Spare scholarship... Phil Baker has established himself as among the very best contemporary biographers.'

Sounds good! There were only 5 places left when we booked this morning so you might be lucky if you hurry.
