As ever with magical trilogies (there are three now and probably more in the pipeline), it's a bit long, especially towards the end and there's some info dumping about things the hero knows all about but on the whole I enjoyed it and I think I'll read the others. The big good thing is the description of how magic works, how it feels and where it comes from.
